Being a coach or player in the NFL is no easy task. For every star who becomes a beloved figure in a franchise, many others must move from team to team, trying to find the right fit. Boise’s Kellen Moore is a prime example of someone who has traveled this difficult road.
Kellen Moore’s journey began on Boise State’s famous blue turf. His college career was stellar, and he left a lasting mark on the sport. Coaches from top programs like Oregon, Georgia, TCU, and Virginia Tech all speak highly of his impact on the field.
After college, Moore played as a backup quarterback for the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. When his playing days ended, he transitioned to coaching, eventually becoming the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, one of the NFL’s most storied franchises.
However, a power struggle with Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy led Moore to move to the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite high hopes, his time with the Chargers was cut short due to a coaching shakeup and numerous player injuries.
Now, Moore finds himself in a new city with a new team: the Philadelphia Eagles. The good news is that the Eagles were the second-best team in the NFL just a season ago. He inherits a talented quarterback in Jalen Hurts and a strong offensive lineup.
Unlike his situation in Dallas, Moore has the support of his new boss. Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni expressed his confidence in Moore to NBC Sports, saying, “It wasn’t easy to hand over the keys to our offense to Kellen, but I knew it was the best decision for the team. I see a lot of positives from it, and it allows me to take a broader view of the game.”

Sirianni lost both his coordinators after the Eagles’ Super Bowl loss, and last season was challenging for the team. There were even rumors that Sirianni might lose his job. However, he survived and is now counting on Moore to help bring out the best in Jalen Hurts.
