What We Know: At approximately 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to a shooting on Claire Court.
When police arrived, they discovered a 19-year-old who appeared to have been shot many times. The individual was very ill when he was brought to the hospital.
Officers were informed by a witness that he seen the 19-year-old and a woman arguing outside of a house. The man slapped the woman during the quarrel.
After thereafter, a 20-year-old male emerged from the house and started fighting with the 19-year-old.
During the altercation, several shots were fired.
Police were informed by witnesses that the 19-year-old was shot by the 18-year-old Destiny Lokeni after she picked up a gun.
According to investigators, Lokeni’s current boyfriend is 20 years old, while her ex-boyfriend is 19.
A gunshot grazed Lokeni during the altercation, and he was transported to the hospital.
Later, the 20-year-old who had been shot showed up at the hospital. It is not anticipated that the injuries will be life-threatening.
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is the charge against Lokeni.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
