Texas’s Fort WorthA teacher’s social media post inviting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to visit North Side High School and remove pupils suspected of being in the country illegally has prompted Fort Worth ISD to launch an investigation.
The backstory
The post on “X” prompted the commencement of the investigation on Friday evening.
According to the post:
“You all ought to visit Northside High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Many of my tenth and eleventh grade classmates don’t even speak English. They must use their iPhone translator to talk with me. The @USEDGOV ought to completely restructure Texas’ educational system.
It occurs days after President Trump signed an order enabling ICE officers to detain undocumented immigrants, even in places of worship and educational institutions.
The district announced on Saturday that the concerned replacement teacher would not be present on campus while the inquiry was underway.
In response to the President’s actions, Fort Worth ISD interim superintendent Karen Molinar issued a statement stating that the district stands with all families.

“FWISD is looking into the subject and is aware of the problem with a social media post that went viral. “Please know that we are taking this matter very seriously and are determined to find a solution as soon as possible,” stated Roxanne Martinez, District 9 FWISD Trustee.
The following statement was released by Fort Woth ISD:
Our Fort Worth ISD community is concerned about a recent social media post that purportedly came from a substitute teacher and mentioned North Side High School.
We take this extremely seriously, and in order to comprehend the situation and make sure the right steps are done, we are undertaking a comprehensive investigation. The employee will not be on campus while the investigation is underway, per district policy.
We are dedicated to keeping the atmosphere encouraging and helpful for every student. As we resolve this issue, we really appreciate your understanding and patience.
Following the Trump administration’s announcement that it will permit agencies to undertake immigration arrests at hospitals, schools, and places of worship, ending a prohibition that has been in effect since 2011, undocumented families across are experiencing anxiety and terror.
Children at Risk is a nonprofit organization whose president and CEO is Bob Sanborn.
“I believe kids are anxious. “I believe their parents are quite concerned,” Sanborn remarked. “I think people wonder, what is the next thing?”
He asserted that the law protects children’s education regardless of their immigration status.
“The Supreme Court has said that every child has an opportunity for an education, whether they’re documented or undocumented, they have the ability to go to school in the United States,” Sanborn stated.
Local viewpoint:
On Sunday, a demonstration in Fort Worth demanded that children in North Texas schools be protected.
Jeanette Martinez, a third-grade teacher, claims that her students are scared to attend class.
“Yes, just on Friday, three of my parents said they were not sending their kids to school anymore because they re afraid,” Martinez stated.
An 8-year-old shouldn’t have that worry, she said.
“They don t know, they don t know all this is evil, they re just trying to get an education, children should not be afraid, they should not,” Martinez stated.
Sanborn concurs that the children should not be involved.
“Yes, let’s solve immigration, but let’s not, let’s not really worry kids any more than they need to be worried,” Sanborn stated.
Sanborn stated that since action is occurring immediately, more people are concerned about President Donald Trump’s second term.
Immigration reform was introduced more gradually during his first administration.
