Arlington CashMax Robbery
The backstory
The CashMax title loan company on Pioneer Parkway was robbed on January 10 at approximately 7 p.m.
According to the police, a bystander who witnessed two armed guys wearing black hoodies enter the establishment called 911.
The workers were allegedly pushed into a back room and had their arms and legs taped up by the two males, who were later identified as 37-year-old Kelvin Bivens and 38-year-old Kevin Lewis.
When the cops surrounded the business, they were still inside.
Lewis was seen rushing out the back door by two officers. He fled.
Second suspect in Arlington CashMax armed robbery still on the run
Investigators recounted a tumultuous scene in which workers were wrapped with tape, their wrists and feet bound.
Bivens was then seen by other cops remaining inside. They retaliated after he began shooting at them.
When Bivens attempted to flee by the front entrance, officers who were waiting for him captured him.
Nobody was injured or struck.
According to the police, the staff members were frightened but unharmed.

Relevant segments of dashboard, body-worn, and surveillance footage from an officer-involved shooting event that took place at a business in the 600 block of W. Pioneer Parkway on January 10, 2025, have been made public by the Arlington Police Department.
The first masked man enters the establishment with a gun pulled, according to security camera footage made public on Thursday.
The workers fall to the ground and seem to follow his instructions. Later, he can be seen aiming the gun at the staff members on camera.
The two masked males can then be seen searching through the handbags and drawers of the employees in the footage.
Later, two policemen can be seen looking into the back of the building on video captured by a police dashboard camera.
One of the suspects emerges from the back door with his hands raised shortly after they have moved away from the camera. Then he starts to run.
Then there are gunshots.
Slowing down the footage shows the first suspect fleeing while a second suspect shoots out the back door.
The two officers who had seen into the back of the building went back to their squad cars for cover and to utilize the public address system, according to footage captured by an officer’s body camera.
“This is the Arlington Police Department, and all individuals are inside the CashMax building. An cop says, “Come out now, put your hands up.” “Hold your hands up and come out. Now raise your hands and come out.”
As soon as they were under fire, both officers opened fire.

Suspects Arrested

The night of the heist, Bivens was taken into custody. Since then, he has been accused of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault on a public servant.
Additionally, he was wanted for aggravated robbery from Shreveport, Louisiana.
The Tarrant County jail is where he is being detained.
Personal belongings left in a car discovered close to the crime scene helped identify Lewis.
He was taken into custody Thursday morning in Arlington by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force.
He is currently being held at the Arlington jail on charges of aggravated robbery.
