The backstory
On his way to work on January 7, Officer Gabriel Bixby was engaged in a deadly accident.
The collision occurred on State Highway 276 in Hunt County, according to state police.
According to reports, Officer Gabriel Bixby was riding his motorbike when he struck the driver of a Honda Accord that was turning in front of him.

At the scene, the 29-year-old officer was declared deceased.
Officer Bixby was assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division during his six years of service with the Dallas Police Department.
According to his social media accounts, he leaves behind a wife and kids.

The vigil will take place at the same spot at 6 p.m.
The funeral service for Officer Bixby will take place at Lakepointe Church in Rowlett on January 28 at 11 a.m.
