Man killed in Fort Worth police shooting after charging officers with knives

We know:

Fort Worth, TexasFort Worth police shot and killed a man early on Wednesday after he threw knives at cops during a domestic altercation.

Just before 4:30 a.m., police were sent to the 5800 block of Westgate Drive in response to a 911 call.

The caller opened the front door to let the officers in when they arrived, but he had trouble unlocking a second metal screen door. Officers at the door observed a man inside the house brandishing knives and behaving violently toward other residents.

To prevent the situation from getting worse, officers stepped away from the front of the house and entered the back, forcing their way inside to protect the occupants.

The man brandished knives as he charged at the officers. He was killed at the spot when police opened fire.

The home’s occupants and officers were unharmed.
