Woman killed in Arlington crash; speed, seatbelt suspected factors

We know:

Arlington, TexasAccording to authorities, the woman who died in an automobile accident in Arlington early on Wednesday was not wearing a seatbelt.

Shortly after midnight, police were called to the scene of a single-car collision in the 2800 block of North Collins Street.

After a 2018 Kia Forte struck a light post on the northwest corner of the intersection, police discovered the vehicle severely damaged. The 30-year-old driver struck the pole after driving off the road and going over a curb, according to investigators.

At the scene, the driver was declared deceased. According to the police, speed and not wearing a seatbelt were major contributing factors.

What is unknown to us:

The identity of the woman is yet unknown.

Although it is unknown, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that alcohol was a factor in the collision.
