Texas’ ArlingtonMonday night, a 19-year-old guy who survived the 2021 school shooting at Arlington’s Timberview High School was shot and killed in the parking lot of an apartment building in Arlington.
We know:
Just before 6 p.m. on Monday, police were called to a shooting incident in the 2400 block of Laurelwood Drive.
Officers discovered the victim, who had been shot, lying in the parking lot. After being brought to a local hospital, he passed away there.
It was determined that Zacchaeus Selby-Mukum, 19, was the victim.
In 2023, Zacchaeus ‘Zac’ Selby shows up in court to witness Timothy Simpkins’ trial. After shooting 15-year-old Selby in a Timberview High School classroom, Simpkins received a 12-year prison sentence.
Although witnesses did not witness the actual incident, they claimed to have heard an argument just before gunshots were fired.
There have been no arrests.
What is unknown to us:
Whether there was a single shooter or several suspects is unknown. No details regarding a potential suspect were made public by the police.
Police have stated that they have not ruled out the idea of high-risk activities being involved, although they have not uncovered a motive.
“That phrase is used to refer to any criminal activity, including the sale of drugs or any other illegal contraband, among other things. We do think that has something to do with that type of activities. “Until we finish our investigation, we simply aren’t ready to explain what that is,” Arlington Police Sgt. Alex Rosado stated. We’re trying to find witnesses. Cell phone warrants are being obtained, and we are searching the area for any Ring-style doorbell footage to see what we can locate. And we’re still working on all of that at the moment.”There is still no proof linking Monday night’s shooting to the Timberview High School massacre in 2021. Police say they aren’t ruling anything out, though.

The backstory
A school shooting at Mansfield Timberview High School in 2021 targeted Selby.
In 2023, his classmate Timothy Simpkins was found guilty of attempted capital murder and given a 12-year prison sentence.

Twelve years in jail have been imposed on a former Timberview High School student who opened fire in a classroom, wounding three people.
Prosecutors claimed throughout the trial that Simpkins and Selby got into a violent fight in the classroom.
Then, after removing a revolver from his waistband, Simpkins shot the student who had attacked him. After Selby fell to the floor in the hallway, he was shot twice more.

According to reports, a teenager who was wounded at Arlington’s Timberview High School a few weeks ago is no longer in the hospital.
A teacher, another student, and Selby were hurt, but they all made it out alive.
During Simpkins’ trial, Selby provided testimony.
