Dallas Officer-Involved Shooting
We know:
On the afternoon of January 7, Dallas police report that they got six 911 reports of a guy brandishing a gun at cars on Joaquin Drive, which is located approximately one block from Casa View Elementary and east of White Rock Lake.
Michael Alonzo, 52, was allegedly pointing a gun at someone inside a car when police arrived on the scene.
Officers can be heard instructing Alonzo to drop the gun in both Spanish and English on body camera footage.
“He’s pointing it” is said by Officer Nathaniel Cairns just before he and Juan Lopez-Navarro both fire bullets.
After being struck, Alonzo was brought to the hospital, where his condition is still critical.
Alonzo was carrying a replica Crosman revolver CO2 air weapon, according to the police.
Alonzo is going to face three charges of lethal behavior. Additional charges might be made public.
