Shortly after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, the electrical substation located close to the intersection of Seventeen Lakes Blvd. and Henrietta Creed Road caught fire. East of Alliance Airport is where you’ll find it.
Oncor turned off the substation’s electricity so that firefighters could try to contain the fire.
According to Oncor, most customers in the area still have power because it has diverted power. Electricity has been restored to the 40 clients who lost it initially.
An update on the electrical substation incident that occurred Wednesday night was provided by the Fort Worth incident Department.
Although nearby residences were informed of the fire, they were not compelled to leave.
About 30,000 gallons of oil are stored in the substation, according to investigators. How much of it has already burnt off is unknown.
As a precaution, hazmat teams have been keeping an eye on the area, but they haven’t discovered anything concerning.
Firefighters said there is no evidence that the fire was started on purpose, but the reason is still being investigated.
