HUNT CO-A motorcycle accident in Hunt County claimed the life of an off-duty Dallas police officer.
What We Know The collision occurred on State Highway 276 approximately a mile and a half south of Union Valley, Texas, at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to state troopers.
According to reports, Officer Gabriel Bixby was riding his motorbike when he struck the driver of a Honda Accord that was turning in front of him.
Unknown injuries were sustained by the 85-year-old driver of the Accord, who was sent to the hospital.
At the scene, the 29-year-old officer was declared deceased.
He resided in Quinlin, which is in southern Hunt County, according to the records.
What People Are Saying: According to the Dallas Police Department, Bixby was assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division and had been a member of the force since 2018.
