This weekend is expected to be quite moderate, but on Sunday, a cold front will blow through, causing temperatures to drop below freezing.

Timeline: It is expected to occur at approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday, with a maximum temperature of 62 degrees.

On Sunday, there’s a chance of a few brief showers and thunder before the frigid air arrives.

On Sunday, temperatures are predicted to drop and winds could reach 30 miles per hour.

We anticipate it to be below freezing by Monday night.

The wind will make it feel like it’s in the single digits and teens, but by the time you get up on Monday morning, the temperature will be in the mid to low 20s!

In the afternoon, temperatures are predicted to rise above freezing.

Through Wednesday, we anticipate remaining dry and cold, with morning temperatures below freezing and subsequent warming above freezing.

There is a chance of ice and snow on Thursday and Friday due to the possibility of precipitation.

In anticipation of possible winter weather, the NTTA has already started to prepare the roads. Additionally, TxDOT has plans to prepare roads for ice and snow.

What We Don’t Know: The likelihood of snow or ice in our location is far from certain.

Precipitation is possible Thursday through Friday, but there are still many unanswered questions.

It is still too far away to predict how cold the surface will be, how much dry air will be there, or how chilly the air will be.

Each of those influences the type of precipitation that might occur.

We think it will be liquid for the time being, but that could change, especially to the south.
