Around two in the morning, a tragic collision occurred on Interstate 20 close to FM 741 in Mesquite.
According to the police, a flat tire caused an SUV to pull over on the side of the highway.
Another driver struck four persons who were outside the car assisting with a tire replacement.
The motorist, who was identified as Basilio Mares Ortiz, 35, then veered off the road and into a ditch.

At the site, the four occupants of the disabled SUV perished.
Arturo Martinez Gonzalez, 47, Anthony Hernandez, 19, Mario Guajardo De La Paz, and a male 15-year-old have been identified as the individuals in question. They were all Terrell natives.
Ortiz was taken into custody by the police and accused of four counts of drunken manslaughter.
