What We Know: On Sunday evening, police were summoned to a disturbance on Caddo Street, close to Lemmon Avenue, in Old East Dallas.

Vannakham Nachampassak, 88, was discovered dead at the scene by the crews.

Ketsanasak Nachampassak, 52, her nephew, was taken into custody and accused of murder.

According to Nachampassak’s arrest warrant document, he entered his aunt’s bedroom and kicked her ten to twenty times.

According to the documents, the 52-year-old spent almost an hour and a half with his aunt before she stopped responding.

Nachampassak called a man, who in turn called the police, only after she stopped responding.

According to the police, Nachampassak acknowledged repeatedly attacking the 88-year-old as a form of discipline during the previous few months.

He is presently being held on a $500,000 bail at the Dallas County Jail.
