Highland Park falls to Comal Smithson Valley in state championship

ARLINGTON, Texas—On Saturday, the Highland ParkScots lost their state championship game in Arlington.

In the Conference 5A Division 1 championship game, Comal Smithson Valley defeated the Scots 32–20.

Despite leading at the end of the first quarter, Highland Park was down at the half. Against the formidable Rangers defense, the Scots offense was shut out in the second half.

In addition to throwing for 316 yards and two touchdowns, Highland Park quarterback Buck Randall also threw two interceptions throughout the game.
