Texas’s Fort WorthA guy who is suspected of killing his uncle in a shooting earlier this month has been taken into custody by Fort Worth police.
Christopher Sanders Sr., age 40, was shot and murdered inside a Dodge Charger that was parked at an apartment complex in the 6900 block of N. Beach St. on December 1.
Investigators suspect that on the day of the murder, Christopher Sanders and his 19-year-old nephew Derrick Sanders Jr. were leaving an apartment complex on Western Center Boulevard in a blue Dodge Charger, which was following a Chrysler 300.
Both Sanders fired at the Chrysler while both vehicles were in motion. Derrick Sanders was shooting from the window of the back seat.
His uncle was in the front passenger seat when one of Sanders Jr.’s gunshots struck the Charger’s roof.
Sanders Sr. was discovered dead in the front passenger seat of a blue Dodge Charger when Fort Worth Police arrived at the apartment complex on N. Beach Street at 3:37 p.m.

The shooting at the Chrysler was prearranged, according to investigators. Similar gloves were discovered close to the parked car, and Sanders Sr. was discovered wearing orange gloves.
The apartment complex was searched by officers. They discovered bloody footsteps leading to an air conditioner where they discovered clothing and a handgun, as well as a discharged cartridge casing next to the Charger’s trunk.
On December 5, Derricks Sanders Jr. told detectives that he was in the car when his uncle was shot.
According to police, security footage shows Sanders Jr. shooting toward his uncle’s seat.
One count of felony murder has been brought against Sanders Jr.
