Pedestrian killed after suspected red-light crash in Richardson; police seek suspect

Investigators said a Cadillac SUV entered the intersection while traveling north on the frontage road. There was a westbound Kia car with the right-of-way. According to the police, the Kia and SUV collided because the Cadillac driver may have run a red light.

The Cadillac was forced forward by the collision and collided with a person using a designated crosswalk. At the scene, the pedestrian was declared dead.

Following the collision, two occupants of the Cadillac left the scene. One suspect has been taken into custody by police, but the other is still at large.

There were no injuries to the Kia’s driver.

Police in Richardson are still looking into the matter and trying to find the second suspect.
