Fort Worth debuts $40 million renovations of Will Rogers Memorial Center

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo’s animals now have better holding enclosures and a show arena where they can shine and show off.

“The residence of the city, the city of Fort Worth, now owns this beautiful space,” stated Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “These are very complex projects.”

The 1948 stock show-specific facilities are now prepared for multipurpose events.

“Where we are standing right now, where we’re going to have a sheep and goat show in one month,” stated Matt Brockman, director of the stock show. “We may have a banquet, trade expo, horse show, and other events the month following that. Therefore, it’s amazing to just add that value to the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth.”

Renovations are costing close to $40 million. The city of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo will split the cost equally.

Will Rogers Memorial Center’s historical images across the front will be upgraded, roughly four years after someone complained that they were demeaning to African Americans.

The forthcoming stock show in 2025 will have the theme “Hustle and Show.”

To accommodate the more than 1.2 million visitors from around the globe, there will be some gleaming new facilities in addition to the well-known and profitable events.

“As I look across the room, I m reminded of what makes Fort Worth truly special: our people,” remarked the mayor. “It s the events where there is legacy, history, probably none more important than the Fort Worth Stock Show.”

The rodeo and stock show takes place from January 17 to February 8.
