FRISCO, Texas:Friscopolice arrested a 19-year-old suspect who allegedly stabbed his Lyft driver in the neck and stole the man s car.

It happened just before 6 p.m. on Monday at the Legends at Legacy apartment complex on Legacy Drive.

Officers found the Lyft driver in the parking lot with a deep cut on his neck. He was able to inform them that the suspect was his client in spite of his severe injuries.

A few hours later, while on patrol close to the crossroads of Highway 423 and Highway 380, police discovered the Lyft driver’s stolen vehicle.

The driver fled as they attempted to stop the car.

Officers from several different departments helped to chase and capture the suspect, who was identified as 19-year-old Antwain Williams of Frisco.

Williams is now facing charges of aggravated robbery and evading arrest. He also had an outstanding warrant for allegedly encouraging a child to perform a sex act.

With potentially fatal injuries, the victim was brought to the hospital. He s reportedly now stable, thanks to the quick actions of the responding officers.

“We are very fortunate for the quick and skilled response of our officers, members of the Frisco Fire Department, and the hospital s medical team which clearly saved the life of this victim,” said Frisco Police Chief David Shilson.

A Lyft spokesperson said they have permanently banned Williams from the platform and are helping police with the investigation.
