On Tuesday, at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho’s four presidential electors formally cast their votes in the Electoral College for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
According to official state election statistics, Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris by a whopping 66.9% of the vote to 30.4% in the general election held in Idaho in November.
To watch the electors cast the state’s four Electoral College votes for Trump, over 150 people flocked to the Idaho State Capitol’s Lincoln Auditorium on Tuesday.
Article II of the U.S. Constitution describes the Electoral College as the formal procedure for selecting the country’s president and vice president.

The number of presidential electors each state receives is equal to the number of congressional representatives from that state. The four presidential electors from Idaho were:

The four electors made an appearance on the ballots of the 2024 Idaho general election after being chosen at the 2024 Idaho Republican Party State Convention. Other Democratic electors would have cast ballots in the Electoral College if Vice President Kamala Harris had defeated Trump in Idaho.
Trump supporters affiliated with the Freedom Foundation and Idaho Republican Party
All four of Idaho’s Trump electors have ties to the Idaho Freedom Foundation or Idaho Republican Party.
In June, Keen, a Boise resident, was chosen to serve as the national committeewoman at the 2024 Idaho Republican Party State Convention. Keen was the Idaho GOP’s state finance chair before becoming an elected precinct committeewoman. According to state campaign finance records, since 2020, Keen has donated $26,331 to conservative Republican politicians and committees. Keen has provided financial support to former state senator Priscilla Giddings, R-White Bird, Idaho Republican Party chairwoman Dorothy Moon, and former lieutenant governor Janice McGeachin. J. LaMont Keen, the former CEO of Idaho Power, is Keen’s spouse.
Mollenkopf-Moore, a representative of Region VI on the executive board of the Idaho Republican Party, claimed to reside in Boise County. Since 2020, Mollenkopf-Moore has made 15 financial contributions to political candidates or committees, according to state campaign finance filings. Mollenkopf-Moore contributed to several conservative Republican candidates and officials, including Moon s unsuccessful 2022 campaign for secretary of state and Giddings unsuccessful 2022 campaign for lieutenant governor. Days before the 2022 general election, Mollenkopf-Moore contributed $1,000 to the unsuccessful independent gubernatorial campaign of anti-government activist Ammon Bundy who ran against incumbent Republican Gov. Brad Littlestate campaign finance records show.Before casting her ballot in the Electoral College on Tuesday, Mollenkopf-Moore said she plans to attend Trump s upcoming inauguration Jan. 20, similar to how Mollenkopf-Moore said she traveled to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021, to support Trump.

According to the final report of the U.S. House committee that looked into the events surrounding the Jan. 6 attack, a violent mob of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6 in an attempt to prevent Congress from counting the Electoral College votes to officially declare President Joe Biden the winner after Trump falsely claimed the 2020 election was rigged.
Idaho s other two Electoral College electors were Regan and Beck.
Regan is the executive director of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee and the chairman of theIdaho Freedom Foundation s board of directors.
Beck is a business owner who lives in Idaho Falls and has previously served as chairman of the Bonneville County Republican Central Committee. Beck also serves on the Idaho Freedom Foundation s board of directors. Beck said he didn t support Trump in 2016, but said Trump has learned and he has grown and Beck said he proudly supports Trump now.
Beck and Regan haveeach contributed more than $100,000to political candidates and committees since 2020,state campaign finance records show.
