What we are aware of:
It took place on the 2400 block of Lamar Boulevard close to Six Flags on Sunday at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The two pedestrians, a man and a woman, both passed away at the scene, according to Arlington police.
“The windshield and other front-end components of the Chevy Malibu will sustain significant damage. Sgt. Alex Rosado of the Arlington Police Department stated, “We did find parts on the scene.”
The driver of the silver Chevy Malibu, according to investigators, struck the man and woman with such force that one of them was flung fifty feet. The other was found over a hundred feet away from the crash site.
“The pedestrians are just using the sidewalk, then. They’re not doing improperly. Rosado stated, “They are where they should be.” “The car, for whatever reason, leaves the main roadway there, strikes them, and immediately returns back into the roadway.”
The collision was captured on traffic cameras. Police, however, claim that the still photos and video are too disturbing to be made public.
“The car and the pedestrians were heading east. According to Rosado, it hit the pedestrians from behind.
According to the police, the victims lacked identification.
The crash occurred near a number of establishments, including lodging facilities. To find the car and the driver, they are begging for assistance.
What is unknown to us:
The driver has not been identified by the police. Additionally, they are unsure if the motorist had a medical issue, was intoxicated, or was under the influence of drugs.
The reason behind the driver’s detour onto the sidewalk is unknown.
“Any chance of intoxication or something like hasn’t been ruled out. “We just don’t know,” Rosado remarked. “The public is being asked to assist us in identifying this individual. Please give us a call if you know who this is or if you know someone who recently had significant front-end damage on their silver Chevy Malibu. To be anonymous, you can give Crime Stoppers a call.
The victims’ names have not been made public.
