2 injured in home explosion, fire near Saginaw

Texas’s Tarrant CountyA house in northern Tarrant County burst and caught fire Thursday afternoon, injuring two workers.

At 12:05 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the residence located in the 9100 block of S. Water Tower Road. North of Saginaw is the location.

When the explosion happened, two men were spraying lacquer. They suffered burns to their arms, face, and head and were taken to Dallas’ Parkland Health Hospital.

“A flammable atmosphere was created by the lacquer spray,” stated Interim Tarrant County Fire Marshal David Butler. “It got an ignition source somewhere.”

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

The explosion prompted the response of firefighters from Haslet, Lake Worth, Saginaw, and Fort Worth.
