DallasThe State Fair of Texas specialty license plate was approved by the Board of Directors of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV). The specially created plates will be available for purchase by Texans beginning in early 2025. The Big Tex Scholarship Program will directly aid young people in Texas with the proceeds.

Every year, high school seniors throughout the state of Texas receive millions of dollars in scholarships from the Big Tex Scholarship Program.

Longtime seasonal employees of the State Fair of Texas or their dependents, graduating seniors from six Dallas ISD high schools close to Fair Park, and kids who have competed in young livestock activities at the State Fair are among the beneficiaries.

Officially, the 2024 State Fair of Texas is over. Nearly 100,000 more people attended the fair this year than the previous one, and the Red River Rivalry set a new attendance record for a single day.

Since 1992, more than 3,500 Texas students have received more than $18.8 million in awards from the Big Tex Scholarship Program.
