Nikki James hired a private vehicle, and she and her 20-year-old daughter were shot on the way home from an early night out.

“I just noticed bullets flying in all directions. Yes, I did exit the truck. “I had no idea what was happening,” she recalled. “I was shot, and I knew it. I informed my daughter. “This must be my time,” I thought.

According to the police, an unidentified car pulled up, started shooting at the black SUV, and then drove away.

In a hospital in North Texas, the 37-year-old is still recuperating from gunshot wounds to her foot and thigh. She also had a bullet graze her forehead.

According to James, her 20-year-old daughter was shot twice but is now free.

The black SUV’s driver was unharmed. No other drivers in the vicinity were struck.

On-scene footage, however, reveals that while workers were in the vicinity, the window of a Dallas water services vehicle flew out.

James thinks someone she knows targeted her.

Her words, “I know exactly who did this,” were clear. “I spoke to the police so they have all the information they need to continue with the investigation.”

Dallas police refused to give any further details when FOX 4 questioned them about the motive, simply claiming that the investigation is “ongoing.”

James is grateful that she and her kid, as well as everyone else who might have been caught in the crossfire, are still alive.
