Texas’s Farmers BranchA Farmers Branch warehouse where legal hemp products were allegedly being repackaged to contain unlawful THC was searched by police and federal officials.
Farmers Branch Police stated that early on Wednesday morning, its officers executed a search warrant at the warehouse on Valley View Lane in collaboration with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration officials.
Along with over $400,000 in cash, they confiscated almost 4,600 pounds of marijuana.

According to police, the raid was the result of a months-long investigation that began with an informant tip.
Investigators discovered a sophisticated drug trafficking scheme that included repackaging legal products with illegal marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms, as well as falsifying certifications for legal hemp and CBD products.
“These products were repackaged at the warehouse on Valley View and shipped to vape shops across the Metroplex as well as to other cities in Texas and across the country,” according to the police.
The items’ high quantities of THC and psilocybin were confirmed by laboratory testing.
No one has been arrested yet, despite the fact that a few individuals who were inside the warehouse during the raid were taken into custody.
It is anticipated that the DEA will assume responsibility for the investigation and bring federal charges against the operation’s perpetrators.
The bust was made public on the same day that Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced plans to outlaw the sale of any THC, including Delta-8 and Delta-9, in the state.
Recreational marijuana is illegal in Texas, so why are THC products on store shelves?
Texans can now purchase items with reduced THC levels thanks to a 2019 law intended to support agriculture.
Retailers dangerously took advantage of the farm law to make widely accessible and sell potentially fatal, unregulated forms of THC to the general public. These shops exposed Texas children to harmful amounts of THC in addition to selling to adults. Since 2023, dozens of businesses have appeared in communities throughout the state, offering dangerous THC goods. Many of these businesses sell beverages and other items that contain three to four times the amount of THC that may be present in marijuana that was bought from a drug dealer. “These products and all forms of THC will be prohibited in Texas under Senate Bill 3,” Patrick stated in a press statement.
When the Texas Legislative session starts on January 14, Patrick, who controls the Senate, is anticipated to make Senate Bill 3 a primary priority.
