KELLER, TexasAfter being found guilty for the second time of wire fraud, a financial executive for a corporation based in North Texas received a sentence of four years in federal prison.
In April, John Robert Rush, 56, of Keller entered a guilty plea to the crime, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.
He was given a 51-month prison term and mandated to reimburse his victims with over $1 million on Wednesday.

Rush was the chief financial officer of a Dallas-Fort Worth-based logistics and transportation company, according to federal authorities. The corporation carried freight for disaster relief agencies, defense contractors, and the U.S. military, among others.
Rush moved money from the business’s bank accounts to his personal accounts between 2016 and 2020. To make such transfers appear like regular vendor payments, he altered records in the business’s accounting software.
Additionally, the company’s majority stockholders said they were facing “almost insurmountable debt” while Rush was using the funds for his own personal gain and debt repayment. The corporation was compelled to shut one of its affiliated companies and lay off workers.
