Seagoville police investigate murder, victim found at park gazebo

Police are looking into a shooting death that occurred Monday before 6 p.m. in Seagoville, Texas.

Investigators say 911 operators were contacted following a shooting incident at a community park in the 600 block of Fountain Drive.

A man was sitting on the ground at a gazebo in the park when police and paramedics arrived. He was conscious despite having been shot in the chest.

After being brought to a nearby hospital, he passed away.

A Dallas ISD school bus carrying two pupils was struck by another car.

Police were informed by witnesses that the victim and suspect were seated in a blue Hyundai vehicle at the time of the shooting. Both the suspect and the victim swiftly exited the car. The suspect fled from the park and down the street, while the victim sprinted roughly sixty feet to the gazebo.

The victim’s name has not been made public.

This is being investigated as a capital murder by Seagoville Police.
