According to the city of Ennis, water pressure has been correctly restored and all but one water main break has been remedied.
Around 6 p.m. on Monday, the city sent out water samples, and they anticipate knowing within a day whether the water is safe to drink once more.
Until then, EnnisISD has canceled classes for the second day in a row. This is because the district has issued a boil water advisory.
On Saturday evening, an eight-inch water main ruptured at the junction of Highway 34 and I-45. In Ennis, that break set off a series of others.
A water problem caused by seven leaks last night is being worked to fix. Ennis has canceled classes today, and police will give out more than 76,000 water bottles to locals.
According to the city, there were seven water main breaches in all. As of Monday evening, all but one had been corrected.
To isolate the leak on I-45, one water tower had to be turned off, while the other leaks prevented the second from being filled.
