2 killed, 2 arrested after McKinney shootout, police chase

McKinney, TexasFollowing a gunfight in eastern McKinney that resulted in a police pursuit, two people have been killed and two more are in custody.

An apartment building close to Logan and McDonald Street was the scene of the gunshot on Wednesday afternoon.

According to witnesses, a 19-year-old McKinney male and a 20-year-old pickup truck passenger got into a gunfight.

The 20-year-old passenger and another passenger, 18-year-old Christopher Perez, were dropped off at a local hospital by that truck before it drove off.

Josue Mejia, 21, is the motorist that led police on a pursuit into Richardson, according to the police. Before being taken into custody, he fled.

At the hospital, Perez was taken into custody.

Both the 20-year-old and the 19-year-old passed away in the hospital. Neither has been named.

Perez and Mejia are both accused of murder.

What part both men played in the shooting is unknown.

There is still no known motive.
