The Oregon Humane Society (OHS) is excited to host a special adoption event this weekend. This event offers a 50% discount on adoption fees for cats and kittens. It runs from Friday through Sunday, July 26-28, at its Portland and Salem campuses. If you’ve been thinking about bringing a furry friend into your home, this is a great opportunity to do so at a reduced cost.
A Surge in Kittens
“This is one of the busiest kitten seasons we have seen in many years,” says Chase Patterson, OHS Vice President of Operations. “Every day, our team is fielding requests from local shelters, rescue groups, and the public asking for help.” The current kitten boom means the shelter is bustling with adorable, adoptable kittens.
More Than 680 Cats and Kittens Await
Right now, OHS cares for over 680 cats and kittens across the Portland and Salem campuses. Approximately 300 of these are ready and waiting for new homes. The reduced adoption fees aim to help more of these cats find loving families.
Convenience and Community Engagement
In addition to the discount, OHS is hosting outreach events designed to make it easier for potential adopters to meet and adopt their new kittens. These events are part of OHS’s commitment to finding homes for all its feline residents.
