DALLAS—A man, 83, is charged with killing an elderly woman in Dallas over 40 years ago.

We know:

Willie Jones was taken into custody on January 16 for violating his parole in connection with a sexual assault, according to Dallas police.

Officers took a DNA sample from him when he was incarcerated. An unsolved murder case was linked to the sample.

On December 14, 1981, Virginia White was discovered dead in her Dallas home on Furey Street.

At the time, Jones was 40 and White was 81.
