Rowlett, TexasAn 18-year-old guy has been taken into custody by police in connection with scores of vehicle break-ins in a community in northwest Rowlett.

The backstory
The break-ins began in late December, according to Rowlett Police Department Cpl. Jaqueline Vergara.
“Although the incidents briefly stopped, they picked back up on the nights of Feb. 1 and Feb. 2, leaving seven burglarized vehicles,” she stated.
The police department posted pictures of a suspect on Tuesday and requested assistance in identifying him.

According to Cpl. Vergara, police were able to identify the suspect as 18-year-old Ulysses Flowers because to the diligent work of the investigators and public tips.
On Wednesday morning, they brought him into custody after obtaining a warrant to examine his house.

At least 42 burglaries that took place within walking distance of Flowers’ house have now been connected to him.
Jewelry, IDs, credit cards, and handbags were among the items found in Flowers’ residence that had been stolen.

Police did not provide further details on the arrests of two other individuals in his house on other outstanding warrants.

Jennifer McKinney, who lives close, overheard the SWAT squad from Rowlett Police Department requesting that Flowers turn himself in.
She is grateful that a suspect was apprehended even if her car was never broken into.
Recently, some neighborhood groups have started discussing the recent car break-ins. This way, a few of streets. “It’s always a block or two away,” she remarked. “I definitely feel better if that s what s been going on that they ve caught that person because we do park on the street.”

“We would want to advise everyone to lock their cars and remove all valuables, especially firearms. Additionally, examine your cameras. Verify that they are charged. Cpl. Vergara advised, “Make sure they’re recording because that will help just in case there are any incidents.”
